Points game · A bad hole costs you at most one point

How Stableford scoring works

Stableford turns each hole into points: par is 2, birdie 3, eagle 4 and bogey 1. Double bogey or worse is 0, so one disaster hole can never sink the round. Add up the points; the highest total wins.

Turnt Golf game guides · Examples are illustrative, not player results.

The Game Show Host explains Stableford: par is two points, birdie three, eagle four, bogey one, and a blow-up hole is zero. 15 seconds, captions on screen.

The points table

Compare your score on each hole with par. In net Stableford, use your net score: the strokes you took minus any handicap strokes on that hole. The points below are the standard table and the one Turnt uses.

Why higher handicaps like it

On a par 4 ranked as the fifth-hardest hole, a golfer with no stroke there who makes a 5 has a net bogey: 1 point. A golfer who gets a stroke on that hole and makes the same 5 has a net par: 2 points.

Because a blown-up hole stops at zero, there is nothing to gain once you can no longer score a point. Many groups pick up at that stage to keep the round moving.

Comparing totals across a group

Turnt compares every pair of players on their point difference. Each player’s result is the sum of their head-to-head differences, so the group always balances to zero. In this invented four-player example, one unit is on each point.

Stableford in Turnt

Turnt scores Stableford individually on net scores with the table above. Junk can be switched on as a separate side game, though the points table already rewards birdies and eagles.

Common questions

Is a higher score better in Stableford?

Yes. You are adding up points, so the highest total wins, the opposite of stroke play.

Can you get negative points?

Not in the standard table Turnt uses. Double bogey or worse is zero.

Is Stableford played gross or net?

Either, but Turnt’s Stableford uses net scores. Devil Stableford 666 uses gross points with a handicap-based target instead.
