Two-person teams · Everything good is a check
How to play Checks
Checks is a two-person team game. Your team’s best net score on each hole competes, and winning a hole outright earns a check. Tied holes carry to the next hole. Birdies, greenies, sandies and other dots are worth a check each too.

Win the hole outright, win the check
Each team counts its lower net score on the hole. If one team has the outright lowest, it wins the check, plus any checks carried from tied holes before it. If the low score is tied, the check carries.
In this invented example, three teams tie hole 4, so its check carries. On hole 5, Team A has the outright low and collects two checks.
| Hole | Team A | Team B | Team C | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 4 | 4 | 5 | Low tie; 1 check carries |
| 5 | 3 | 4 | 4 | Team A wins 2 checks |
Dots are checks too
On top of holes won, each dot is worth the same as a check: birdie 1, eagle 2, greenie 1, sandy 1, chippie 1 and polee 1. One custom piece, the blown polee, takes a dot away. Birdies and eagles are counted from gross scores automatically; the rest are tapped in.
Checks in Turnt
Turnt plays Checks with teams of two on net scores over the full 18. For every check a team wins, each other team owes it one check. Dots are compared head to head: every dot of difference between two teams is worth one check. Teammates share their team’s result.
A check still tied after the last hole is not awarded to anyone.
Common questions
Is Checks the same as Skins?
The holes work like team Skins with carryovers. Checks adds the dots, valued the same as a hole won.
What is a greenie?
In Turnt, a greenie is hitting a par 3 green with your tee shot, finishing closest to the hole, then making par or better.
How many players does Checks need?
Turnt’s Checks uses teams of two, so at least four golfers.
