How Chip Chase works
Chip Chase is a side game played with chips for golf moments. Make a birdie and you take the green birdie chip; hit it in the water and the red water chip is yours. You hold a chip until someone else does the same thing. Whoever holds each chip at the end settles it.

Green chips, red chips and the gold one
Green chips are good moments; red chips are bad ones. Each chip moves to the last player who did that thing. Holding a green chip at the end is good. Holding a red chip is not.
| Chip | Moments |
|---|---|
| Green | Eagle, birdie, sandy, chip-in, greenie, 1-putt |
| Red | 8 or more, a 7, tree, water, OB, lost ball, 3-putt |
| Gold | Beer Cart: on par 3s, the ball furthest from the hole |
It’s about who has it last
Invented example: Sam birdies hole 4 and takes the birdie chip. Jordan birdies hole 11 and takes it from Sam. If nobody birdies again, Jordan finishes holding the birdie chip.
If the last time it happens two players do it on the same hole, that chip is void, because there is no way to tell whose came last.
Chip Chase in Turnt
Chip Chase is an add-on for individual (non-team) rounds. Every chip is worth the same agreed amount, and chips are settled within each playing group. Hold a green chip at the end and each other player in your group owes you one chip’s worth; hold a red chip and you owe each of them.
Eagles, birdies, 7s and 8s come from the gross score automatically; the rest are a quick tap. The gold Beer Cart chip is just for fun: whoever ends with it buys a round, and it moves nothing in Turnt’s results.
Common questions
Can I hold more than one chip?
Yes. Each chip moves on its own, so you can end with several green chips, several red chips or a mix.
Does Chip Chase use net scores?
No. The score-based chips come from your gross score on the hole.
Is the Beer Cart chip worth anything?
Not in Turnt’s results. It is a tradition chip: whoever is holding it at the end buys the next round.
